Midleton Irish Whiskey Presents Their First Ever Google Hangout

Single pot still Irish Whiskeys of Midleton present their first ever Google hangout on air live from the Google foundry, Dublin.
As you know, I have long admired the way that Midleton Distillery, Jameson and Irish Distillers place so much emphasis on the people who make their whiskey. Many other whisk(e)y companies are fronted by accountants and marketeers who just act as a buffer between the folks who actually run the distilleries and their public.

But Jameson’s Midleton Distillery is so, so different. The largest Irish whiskey Company in the world is run by real and really nice and open people, who plainly love their profession and who without fail, make themselves available to the international whiskey media.

So, Why do Jameson and Irish Distillers get so much good press?

Because their media team and their Irish Whiskey Academy act as facilitators rather than messengers. Jameson press and media events are wonderful for whiskey writers such as myself, as you get to meet and chat to your heroes. In recent years, I and my international whiskey media colleagues have had the honour to share many an enjoyable evening in the company of the Midleton Masters who are the very people who make the Midleton Distillery and the Jameson Irish Whiskey Family so special. Typical of these events was the recent celebration of 30 Years of Midleton Very Rare Whiskey and the Launch of Midleton Very Rare Pearl Edition.

That’s all very good if you are lucky enough to be one of a small band of Irish Whiskey writers. But what about you, the ordinary Irish whiskey fan back home? Well, the great news is that thanks to the wonders of Google Hangouts, you can join us all in a live online Irish whiskey event on Monday evening where you too can meet and chat online with our Midleton Masters and other Irish Whiskey heroes.
